Our Mission

The Chip Merlin Foundation is dedicated to promoting, developing and supporting the construction of homeless shelters, low-income housing, housing for the elderly, physically challenged, and for children.

OUR STORY

Chip Merlin devoted his life to providing housing to folks who wanted or needed it. While his day job was Vice President in Operations and Product Management for a construction company, on his own time he was devoted to ensuring that those less fortunate had a place to live. He was very involved with Habitat for Humanity in Virginia, and worked on many similar project sites in Michigan and Maryland.

Chip passed away in 2011 and the Foundation in his name was created soon after to continue his spirit of giving and providing shelter to those in need. The mission of the Foundation has been to promote and support the construction of homeless shelters, low-income housing and housing for the elderly, physically challenged, and children.

Since its inception, the Foundation has made many contributions to Mid-Atlantic homeless shelters, but also to organizations dedicated to support the mental health of service members and veterans battling the invisible wounds of war.

In order to carry on with the Foundation’s mission and continuing to honor Chip’s memory, we need your support.
